Safe at Home
The Safe at Home program is a free statewide service run by the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office that helps protect the privacy and safety of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, trafficking, and other violent crimes. The program provides participants with a legal substitute address they can use on public records instead of their real home address, helping prevent abusers from locating them. The program is designed to provide an extra layer of safety and support as survivors rebuild their lives. This animated video was created to help clearly and compassionately communicate these protections, using thoughtful motion design and storytelling to make important information more accessible and engaging for the people who need it most.
